What is OPEX (Operating Expense)?

OPEX stands for Operating Expense. The recurring cost of running a system — energy, chemicals, membrane replacement, labor. Low-energy elements cut OPEX without redesigning the train.

LE
Membrane variant tuned for lower operating pressure (typically ~100 psi vs. 150 psi standard) to cut energy cost on long-running systems.
XLE
Even lower operating-pressure variant than LE — used in cooling-tower make-up and other large-volume duty where every kWh matters.
HRLE
A combined variant — the rejection of an HR element with the lower operating pressure of an LE element. Useful where both targets matter.
